Olympic Troy’s Burgers #2 (Bell Gardens)
Mr. Sergio Guerrero’s father first opened Troy’s Burgers #1 in East Los Angeles in 1983. Then, in 1985, he opened Olympic Troy’s Burgers #2 in Bell Gardens where his family resided from 1986-2002 and where some of his family still call home. Now, a resident of Whittier, Sergio took over the family business beside his father.
For many in Bell Gardens, Troy’s Burgers 2 is a staple in the community. This is especially true for the students and alumni of Bell Gardens High School, the alma mater for many in the Guerrero family as well. To Troy's, their constant support for the Lancers Yearbook, contributions to countless sports uniforms, and local fundraisers is not just about a small business giving back, it’s much more personal.
Although Troy’s faced its own challenges throughout the pandemic, they stepped in from the beginning to help their city distribute meals to Bell Gardens seniors and when families needed help with funeral costs, they opened their parking lot to help them fundraise.
A small family-owned restaurant with high hopes and inspiration continues as they hope to highlight alumni of Bell Gardens High School – from professional athletes to elected officials, and more – to inspire future generations of their limitless possibilities with a little help from their community.
