The Devil We Know is a documentary about a group of citizens that challenge a powerful corporation to be more environmentally responsible, highlighting the dangers of toxic chemical PFAS.

Assemblymember Cristina Garcia will provide a legislative report to inform the public about the dangers of PFAS in drinking water and potentially in your bloodstream. The legislative report will include an update on Assembly Bill 756- consumer disclosure of PFAS in your public water systems.

Co-sponsored by La Opinion, Bell Gardens High School Environmental Club & East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice.

Asm. Garcia and Dolores HuertaPlease join in the festivities of Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia’s Swearing-In and Pride of the 58th Celebration Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Downey Adult School (12340 Woodruff Ave., Downey, CA 90241). 

The family-friendly afternoon will be packed with special guests, including legendary civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, exciting cultural performances as well as free food and drinks from local food trucks and fun for the whole community. 

Invite your friends, family and neighbors! Come early to check in and ensure you experience this gathering and celebration of the 58th Assembly District.

In the spirit of community, please bring boxed tampons or pads, packaged underwear or socks, and toiletries to be donated to groups who work with homeless populations in the 58th district.

Entertainment will include Awakened Blessings Lion Dance Troupe's Chinese Dragon, US Naval Sea Cadets Color Guard from Montebello, Eastmont Intermediate Mariachi, Savithri Arts Academy​ Indian dancers, Warren High's Marching Band, Armenian Mesrobian School's Dance Folk group, and the African American Choir's Southern California Ensemble!

UPDATE: Free food will be provided to attendees from Habit Burger, Epic Tacos, Cheddr Wheel, Achara Food Truck and Kona Ice!!!!!!
