(Artesia) – Assemblymember Cristina Garcia (Bell Gardens) announces that her office is now accepting nominations from the community for nominees as “Woman of the Year,” for the 58th Assembly District.
March has been designated as Women’s History Month and each year California State Legislature encourages Legislator’s to highlight and honor deserving women for service to their community.
This year, to give more deserving women an opportunity to be recognized for their service, Assemblymember Garcia will honor as “Woman of the Year,” one recipient from each of the nine cities that she represents in the state Legislature,
“If you know of inspiring, woman of distinction and service in your community, I want to know about them, so please submit your nominees by Friday, March 1st,” Garcia said.
“Woman of the Year” nominations are open to all women who live, work, or attend school in the 58th Assembly District, including the cities of Artesia – Bellflower – Bell Gardens Cerritos – Commerce – Downey – Pico Rivera – Montebello – Norwalk.
Those selected as “Woman of the Year” will be honored at a luncheon to be hosted by Assemblymember Garcia on March 25th.
