(Bell Gardens) –– Assemblymember Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens) has announced the launch of her Facebook poll for her community recognition program, #Pride58. The goal of the #Pride58 program is to have the community tell and share their own stories and recognize individuals, businesses and community organizations who are making positive impacts within the 58th Assembly District honoring those who inspire people, serve others and who do good without ever having been asked.
For 52 weeks Assemblymember Garcia has highlighted the positive contributions that occur every day in her community, the 58th Assembly District. Each Sunday, Garcia awarded a nominee with the #Pride58 Award, selected by the public, through her Assembly website and social media. Now, Assemblymember Garcia would like to encourage her constituents to vote for their favorite #Pride58 nominee.
“We are looking to recognize the positive work being done in our community, often behind the scenes, that is improving the lives and the conditions of our neighbors and fellow citizens,” Garcia said.
“I want to ask my community, to vote for their "Best of the Best" #Pride58 nominee in each category by using my website as a source for each nominee’s photo and story. To date, over five hundred have participated by voting in this poll.
The Voting Categories are as follows: 1) Helping Hand, 2) Outstanding Community Impact Award, 3) Leaders of Tomorrow, 4) Honor Roll, 5) Partner for Progress. Constituents are encouraged to vote for a nominee in each category. They can vote once a day to make sure that their favorite nominee is a winner.
“Best of the Best” winners from each category will be honored at a special dinner gala in January at the new Bicycle Club Casino Hotel, recently opened in Bell Gardens.
