Praise and Applause for Governor’s Aggressive Action on Exide

(Los Angeles) – For over 30 years, irresponsible environmental practices by Exide Industries have led to severe negative health impacts for thousands of families in Los Angeles County. But some action has finally been taken to tackle the public health threat. State legislative leaders and community activists gathered in Los Angeles to applaud Governor Jerry Brown’s decision to use $176-million in General Fund dollars to fund expedited and expanded testing and cleanup of residential properties, schools, daycare centers and parks around the former Exide Technologies facility.
