Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes Names Local Clothing Brand 1LoveIE “2021 Small Business of the Year”

For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) — Today, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) honored 1LoveIE of Riverside as the 60th Assembly District’s 2021 Small Business of the Year during the annual celebration of California Small Business Day, which brings together small businesses from communities across the state. Justin Hudson, Founder, and CEO, was present to receive the award.

“I am so proud to name 1LoveIE as our 2021 60th Assembly District Small Business of the Year,” said Assemblymember Cervantes, who chairs the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy. “1LoveIE is not only vital to our local economy but a valuable part of our community. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, 1LoveIE has found ways to serve and give back to our communities through donations of goods and hosting vital resource events, serving local families in need during a challenging year. I am inspired by Mr. Hudson’s passion and vision to create a strong sense of hometown pride and positively represent our Inland Empire region through 1LoveIE’s dynamic apparel brand.”

Entrepreneur Justin Hudson was inspired to start 1LoveIE on a trip to Paris in 2011, when locals consistently asked him where he was from. Dissatisfied with nobody knowing about the Inland Empire and having to provide Los Angeles as a response, Hudson felt catalyzed to put the Inland Empire on the map and began working on his dream right after returning home. Hudson soon founded the clothing brand 1LoveIE, which stands for “One Love Inland Empire” or the universal “One Love In Everything.” The goal of the brand is to spread the word of the Inland Empire, reaching the hearts of those around the globe and providing a message of “peace, love and unity” and “together we are 1.”

“Not only does this reward give my team and I a great sense of pride, but it speaks volumes to our community.  It is another true testament and reminder that with a strong faith and the right team behind you, anything is possible,” said Justin Hudson, CEO, and Founder of 1LoveIE.  “I hope this award serves as a reminder to everyone out there reading this, that you should always lead with love, and never give up on your dreams.  You are closer than you think to getting what you want.”

1LoveIE operates two store locations in the Inland Empire since opening in 2013: one in the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside and another at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. The apparel brand has collaborated with worldwide brands like Nike, been carried in large retailers like Active Skate Shop, and their products are currently being sold in 13 Footlockers across the region. Since being founded, 1LoveIE has made it a part of its brand identity to give back to the community through volunteering and donations, such as their annual shoe giveaway for foster youth. In addition to his work with 1LoveIE, CEO Justin Hudson shares his years of knowledge and experience with others as an Associate Professor at Riverside City College, teaching classes such as “Best Practices in Customer Service.”
