For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) –Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes honored Josie Gaytan of Jurupa Valley as the 60th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year. Each year, in recognition of the innumerable contributions made by outstanding women throughout California, the Legislative Women’s Caucus hosts a celebration to highlight their achievements.

Josie Gaytan has served as an advocate for our community for over 25 years—from her time with Jurupa Unified School District, to her work with the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice and now, as Director of Healthy Jurupa Valley and Board Member of the Jurupa Area Recreation and Parks District. “Throughout her career, Josie has worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of others. Her exceptional leadership combined with the desire to serve her community is truly inspirational,” said Assemblymember Cervantes.

During this event, a woman from each Assembly District is honored in the State Capitol. Each honoree was introduced on the Assembly Floor and received a resolution honoring her accomplishments.
