Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes Selects Veterans Organization as 2019 Nonprofit of the Year

(SACRAMENTO) — Today, on California Nonprofits Day, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) honored Reaching New Heights Foundation Inc. as the 60th Assembly District’s 2019 Nonprofit of the Year at the State Capitol.

“Since its founding, Reaching New Heights Foundation Inc. has provided valuable services throughout the Inland Empire to support our veterans who are transitioning from active duty, incarceration, or homelessness, in an effort to foster a strong sense of pride and stability,” said Assemblymember Cervantes. “As Chair of the Select Committee on Veteran Employment and Education, it is a great honor to recognize Reaching New Heights Foundation as the 60th Assembly District Nonprofit of the Year, and I commend the organization for their steadfast commitment to serving those who have served.”

Established in 2013, Reaching New Heights Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created by a veteran for veterans. It proudly serves Inland Empire veterans in their transition from active duty military service, incarceration, or homelessness, to life as a civilian and a productive member of society. Reaching New Heights assists nearly 300 veterans a month with an array of supportive services which include housing, employment, educational resources, mentorship, and much more.

Sabrina Cervantes proudly represents the 60th District of the California State Assembly, which encompasses the cities of Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Norco, a portion of Riverside, and the unincorporated communities of Coronita,El Cerrito, and Home Gardens. Cervantes serves as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy.
