For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) — Today, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) honored EK Floral Design of Norco as the 60th Assembly District’s 2019 Small Business of the Year during the annual celebration of California Small Business Day, which brings together small businesses from communities across the state. Elizabeth Kavianian, owner, was present to receive the award.

“I am proud to name EK Floral Design as the 2019 60th Assembly District Small Business of the Year,” said Assemblymember Cervantes, Chair of the Assembly Jobs Committee. “What started as a passion, stemming from Norco High School’s Agriculture Department, flourished into something much greater. Elizabeth’s emergence as a millennial entrepreneur serves as an inspiration and important reminder that it is never too early or too late to pursue one’s dreams of becoming a small business owner.”

In 2015, Elizabeth Kavianian started EK Floral Design in high school as a way to channel her creativity, skills, and passion for floral design. EK Floral Design strives to create a legacy of excellence through unique floral masterpieces and a memorable experience for life’s most special occasions. Prior to starting her own business, Elizabeth worked in the floral industry and was actively involved in Norco High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA). As a current student at the University of California, Riverside, Elizabeth has demonstrated her commitment to creating a healthy, inclusive, and positive environment for all gender identities through her involvement with several campus organizations.
