Veterans: File for PACT Act benefits before August 9

PACT ACT

The PACT Act is the most significant expansion of veterans’ benefits in more than 30 years, expanding VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances.

File your PACT Act claim, or quickly submit your intent to file—by Wednesday, August 9 to be eligible for up to one year of backdated benefits. Veterans previously denied a toxic-exposure related claim are encouraged to file a supplemental claim. The VA will review the claim under the new law.

To submit an intent to file by phone, please contact (800) 827-1000, Monday through Friday, 5 AM – 6 PM PT. To learn more about the PACT Act, you can visit va.gov/PACT or call the VA at 800-698-2411 (TTY: 711).

I encourage you to apply today or share this news with a veteran in your life!

Be on alert. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in PACT Act-related phishing (email), vishing (phone), and social media scams targeting Veterans to access their PACT Act benefits or submit claims on their behalf. To report suspected scams, please contact the VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) Hotline at VA.gov/oig/hotline.
