Creating a Task Force on California Women Veterans Health

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) joined forces with Assemblymember Devon Mathis (R-AD26) to write legislation (Assembly Bill 296) creating a task force to examine the health issues California women veterans are facing. The Task Force is charged with looking into the quality of, and access to, mental health services, including services and treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury as well as a host of other health related issues. “Women veterans often face unique challenges and have distinct needs from their male counterparts,” Assemblymember Cervantes told the Assembly Committee on Veterans Affairs.
