(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) appeared before the Assembly Committee on Public Safety to present her new legislation to combat human trafficking over the internet. Assembly Bill 1882 would close a loophole and make it a felony to contact a minor online with the intent to engage in human trafficking. “This bill will help law enforcement combat the growing use of the internet by human traffickers and provide a piece of the puzzle that is the solution to California’s human trafficking problem,” Assemblymember Cervantes said.
