Cervantes Bill Creates California Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit

(Sacramento)  – If  new legislation from Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) becomes law there will be a new career path in California. Assembly Bill 1904 would create the California Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit which will allow a tax break to employers in the amount of $1 for each hour a registered apprentice worked. “A tax credit would directly incentivize employment and on-the-job training of registered apprentices by making apprenticeships more attractive to employers,” said Assemblymember Cervantes as she presented AB 1904 to the Rev and Tax Committee.
