“Stealthing” Bill Shelved ‘till 2018

(Sacramento) – The bill addressing the ongoing threats of rape culture by adding “stealthing” to California’s Penal Code, AB 1033 (Cristina Garcia, D-Bell Gardens), is being held by the Assemblywoman.

The bill, AB 1132, was authored by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia (D- Bell Gardens), Chair of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee.

Bill to Halt CA Polluters Moves to Governor for Approval

(Sacramento) – Legislation allowing Air Quality Management District’s (AQMD’s) to immediately cease operations at facilities endangering the public today was approved again by the State Assembly. The bill, AB 1132, is authored by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia (D- Bell Gardens), Chair of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee.  The bill was previously amended in the Senate requiring today’s concurrence vote.

California State Legislatures Approves AB 398 and AB 617

Bill to Prevent Emission Cheats Progresses in Legislature

(Sacramento) – Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia’s (D- Bell Gardens), legislation to provide new tools and resources to the Air Resources Board (ARB) today passed off the Assembly Floor.  The bill would enable ARB to stay current on new vehicle technologies that could violate California’s clean air laws, like Volkswagen was discovered to have done last year.
