Cervantes Bill to Provide Environmental Justice Representation on the California Transportation Commission Approved on the Senate Floor

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Assembly Bill 179 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) was approved on the Senate Floor by a vote of 24 to 13. AB 179 would direct the governor to make every effort to ensure a diversity of professional experience on the California Transportation Commission (CTC), including experience working with or representing disadvantageous communities.

Cervantes Bill to Make Riverside County Carpool Lanes Flexible Approved by Senate Committee

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, the Senate Transportation & Housing Committee approved Assembly Bill 91 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) by a unanimous vote. AB 91 would help ease late-night traffic jams in Riverside County by allowing single occupancy cars to use high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, commonly known as “carpool lanes,” during non-peak traffic hours.
