(SACRAMENTO) – This week, the Assembly Transportation Committee approved Assembly Bill 179 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) by a vote of 9 to 5. AB 179 would require one of the eleven appointed members of the California Transportation Commission (CTC) to have had experience working on environmental justice issues.

(SACRAMENTO) – Yesterday, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) voted in favor of the Road Repair & Recovery Act of 2017. The bill provides $5.2 billion per year to repair and rebuild California’s streets and highways. About $427 million will be allocated for local transportation projects in Western Riverside County.

(SACRAMENTO) – This week, the Assembly Revenue & Taxation Committee approved Assembly Bill 162 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) and Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva (D-Orange County) by a bipartisan vote of 8-0. AB 162 would make more small businesses eligible for the California Competes tax cut administered by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The tax cut is available to small businesses that wish to establish a business, or stay and grow an existing business, in California.

(SACRAMENTO) – This week, the Assembly Education Committee unanimously approved Assembly Bill 226 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona). AB 226 would require the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to consider the applications of spouses of active United States Military service members within seven days if they are credentialed teachers in other states.

(SACRAMENTO) – This week, the Assembly Transportation Committee approved Assembly Bill 91 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) by a bipartisan vote of 11-2. AB 91 would help ease late-night traffic jams in Riverside County by allowing single occupancy cars to use high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, commonly known as “carpool lanes,” during non-peak traffic hours.
