Cervantes Bill to Give Tax Cuts to Small Businesses Approved by Jobs Committee

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, the Assembly Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy Committee approved Assembly Bill 162 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) and Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva (D-Orange County) by a bipartisan vote of 7-0. AB 162 would make more small businesses eligible for the California Competes tax cut administered by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The tax cut is available to small businesses that wish to establish a business, or stay and grow an existing business, in California.

Cervantes Secures $427 Million for Western Riverside County Roads and Infrastructure

(SACRAMENTO) – Yesterday, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) voted in favor of the Road Repair & Recovery Act of 2017. The bill provides $5.2 billion per year to repair and rebuild California’s streets and highways. About $427 million will be allocated for local transportation projects in Western Riverside County.

Assembly Committee Approves Cervantes Bill to Expedite Teacher Credentialing for Military Spouses

(SACRAMENTO) – This week, the Assembly Education Committee unanimously approved Assembly Bill 226 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona). AB 226 would require the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to consider the applications of spouses of active United States Military service members within seven days if they are credentialed teachers in other states.
