Cervantes Bill to Reform Local Government Transitions to District-Based Elections Sent to Governor’s Desk

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Assembly Bill 2123 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) was unanimously approved by the state Senate, and sent to Governor Jerry Brown for his consideration. AB 2123 would reform the existing process for local governments to transition to district-based elections by providing for a mutually agreed-to extension of up to 90 days to continue negotiations between local governments and potential plaintiffs.

(SACRAMENTO) - Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes honored Peppermint Ridge of Corona as the 60th Assembly District 2018 Nonprofit of the Year at the State Capitol. Since 1959, Peppermint Ridge has worked toward empowering individuals with developmental disabilities.

Inspiring STEM Education: Assemblymember Cervantes, Senator Roth Look to California’s Future Workforce

(JURUPA VALLEY) – Today, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes and Senator Richard D. Roth welcomed Tesla to Jurupa Valley High School’s Innovation Center. Engineers and representatives of the automaker spoke to students about their work with the hopes of inspiring them to seek out careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Students also had the opportunity to visit stations exhibiting Tesla’s solar energy, battery storage, and electric vehicles.
